As if the vendor area at the 2015 Easter Jeep Safari wasn’t exciting enough, Magnuson upped the ante when they installed one of their TVS 1320 superchargers onto a 2014 Jeep Rubicon right there during the event. The did so to show the assembled that their kit is easy to install and can literally be done in a field.
Equipped with the 3.6 liter engine, the JK now has been upgraded with a 45-50 percent increase in horsepower and torque over a stock Jeep. The system that Magnuson offers features not only an internal bypass supercharger, but an air to liquid intercooler, all the necessary hoses and hardware, but the Diablo Trinity T1000 controller as well.
Due to the owner living in a higher altitude, the system was equipped to produce 8-lbs of pressure, though a “sea level” pulley will put out 6-lbs. While it may seem like a complicated process, the guys at Magnuson can have one installed on your rig in only a day.
The rig in question belonged to Bryce Thompson of Dixie 4 Wheel Drive. Thompson, who’s based out of nearby St. George, Utah, built the Rubicon and when he had a chance to drive his now blown Jeep, was stoked.
Follow along as this JK Rubicon gets more than just a breath of fresh air, it gets it forced down its cylinders.
